Hawai’i Care Choices proudly presents the 21st Annual Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at Reeds Bay Beach Park in Hilo from 3PM to 7:30 PM. This is the Big Island's largest lantern floating event, attracting over 3,500 attendees. The event is free and open to the public. The Hilo Bon Dance Club and Tsukikage Odori Kai Dancers will return to open the Celebration of Life with the FIRST Bon Dance of the Obon Season to remember and honor those who passed. In addition, personally decorated luminaries will be released by families at sunset into Reeds Bay.
Whether the loss was in the last few months or the last few years, so many families painfully adjust to the loss of loved ones no longer here and gather to begin their own healing. Grief affects all ages and can be carried on for months, years and even decades. Since 1983, we’ve provided love, care, and support to thousands of patients and families during their greatest time of need. All donations from this event will go to support families in Hospice and Bereavement (Grief) Care in East Hawai`i.
We plan to vary the food vendors to ensure we are not offering the same or similar menu items from more than one vendor. SIGN UP EARLY! Once we fill the 10 spots, we will close the selection process. The earlier you sign up with your donation, the better chance you will have to get one of the spots.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

Food Truck/Tent Positions on site: will be based on first come, first serve. Arrive no later than 2pm. There will be staff to assist you beginning at 9am.
Registration Fee: $200
Expected Attendance: 2,500
FOOD ESTABLISHMENT PERMIT FROM DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH REQUIRED
